DMP arrests 50 in anti-narcotics drive

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 50 people from the city during an anti-narcotics drive against selling and consuming illegal drugs.

Different police stations under the DMP conducted the drive and arrested the suspects from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours that ended at 6:00am on Sunday.

The drive in various places of the capital seized 1095 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 244 grammes of heroin, 350 grammes of cannabis, three bottles of phensedyl with some other drug items, according to a DMP statement.

A total of 36 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
