A college teacher was arrested from a hospital in Sirajganj on Friday night for allegedly violating a student.
The accused is Abu Sayeed Mollah, 38, son of late Zafar Mollah of Gulta village in Sirajganj's Tarash upazila and teacher of Tarash M Mansur Ali College.
Police started investigation after the father of the victim, a member of an ethnic minority group, filed a case against the teacher on Friday for raping her daughter, said Officer-in-charge (OC) of Tarash Police Station Fazle Ashiq.
Sayeed went to her house for tuition at 9:00pm on Thursday and raped her finding her alone at the house.
Hearing her scream, local people rushed in and beat up Sayeed. Then he was admitted to Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib General Hospital. Later police arrested him from the hospital, reports UNB.
