Bangladesh mission in New Delhi celebrates Independence Day

Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi on Monday celebrated the 48th Independence and National Day.

The mission celebrated the day through paying glowing tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the Liberation War martyrs.

Officers, staff and their family members joined compatriots at home and abroad in simultaneous singing of national anthem, Amar Sonar Bangla at a morning function at the chancery.

Messages from President Md. Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shahriar Alam were read out by officers.

Earlier, High Commissioner Syed Muazzem Ali hoisted the national flag as an BAF band played national anthem, said a press release.

Special prayers were offered seeking divine blessings Bangabandhu, his family members, who were killed along with him on Aug 15, 1975 and the Liberation War martyrs.
