Fourteen Bangladeshi nationals returned home on Tuesday after serving two years in an Indian jail.

Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Benapole Immigration Police, said the returnees entered the Indian territory without valid documents three years ago in search of better job.

They were arrested by Indian police from Bangalore. Later, an Indian court sentenced them to two years' imprisonment for illegally crossing the border.

On completion of the jail term, the Bangladeshi nationals returned home through the Beanpole check-post, reports UNB.

The returnees are hailing from Rajshahi, said the OC.
