The Romantics: A taste of Bollywood nostalgia

Yash Raj Films is one of the best-known names in the film industry of this subcontinent. Many film connoisseurs might not instantly recognise the name of a film production and distribution company; however, when the company logo pops up, it will be hard to find a film lover who cannot associate it with top-notch films.

A documentary series about the journey of Yash Raj films has recently been released on Netflix, titled 'The Romantics,' with Aditya Chopra, currently the man in charge of Yash Raj films and who also happens to be the son of the legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.

The documentary series being released on Valentine's Day has already been a success, with it being the top trending content on Netflix India and Bangladesh. 

The viewers got a chance to immerse themselves in the overwhelming nostalgia of the Bollywood of the past, where Yash Raj Films produced one legendary film after another. The films have been engraved in our collective cultural consciousness forever.

The documentary series has received critical acclaim from viewers due to its candid representation of the evolution of the Hindi film industry. It examines many different tropes that have been commonly utilised in the Hindi film industry for quite some time and provides a detailed narrative about many different studios where some of the legendary films' acting has taken place.

Many actors and actresses appeared in the documentary to share their opinions, starting with Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Madhuri Dixit, Amitabh Bachchan, Ritwik Roshan, Kajol, Katrina Kaif, Ayushman Khurrana, and many more. 

Lily Singh, the Canadian content creator of Indian origin, also had a part, which has led to mixed reactions on the internet. 

The Romantics is a great nostalgia trip for both Bollywood connoisseurs and people interested in delving into the intricacies of the history of Hindi cinema as a whole. 

However, if someone is neither of these, the whole production might seem a bit tacky and overblown and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
