Professor Dr Md Zahangir Alam has joined the Atish Dipankar University of Science & Technology (ADUST) as the vice-chancellor.
He was appointed to the post for four years, the university said in a press release citing Section 31 (1) of the Private University Act, 2010.
Prior to joining the ADUST, Dr Alam served as a professor of applied chemistry and chemical engineering at Dhaka University.
He worked as a researcher in various national and international organizations and as a distinguished teacher, author, and policymaker in various educational institutions.
Dr Alam was also on the selection committee and a syndicate member of various public and private universities.
He has been awarded various honours at home and abroad for his works.
As Dr Alam joined the ADUST, the authority gave him a warm reception.
At the reception, Professor Alam thanked everyone including Mr Liakat Sikdar, chairman, Board of Trustees, ADUST.
