NSU arranges virtual orientation programme for newly enrolled students of Spring Semester

North South University (NSU) on Monday organised a virtual orientation for its newly enrolled students of Spring Semester-2022.

Over 1,700 students were admitted in the graduate (honours) courses at 16 departments of the four schools of the university. Around 69 students have been awarded merit-based scholarship for their previous outstanding results and admission test results.

Mr Azim Uddin Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, North South University, was present the programme as the chief guest. NSU alumni Dr Fariah Mahzabeen, assistant professor of Technology, Aviation and Technology Department, College of Engineering, San Jose State University, USA, attended the event as the guest speaker, according to a statement.

Ms Yasmin Kamal, member, Board of Trustees, NSU, was present as the guest of honour. Prof Atiqul Islam, vice-chancellor of North South University, chaired the event, moderated by Jamil Ahmed, director of Public Relations Office, NSU.

While speaking as the chief guest, Azim Uddin Ahmed said, “The objective of NSU is to develop excellence in education, which is not possible without a safe and secure learning environment. To achieve this mission, NSU authorities are committed to creating a habit of discipline among students.”

 In his speech, Dr Fariah Mahzabeen said, “Many of you might be facing dilemmas about which university to attend, if you have made the right choice, I want to assure you and your parents that, you are at one of the best educational institutes our country has to offer.”

Prof Atiqul Islam said, “Students want to learn from the most knowledgeable and skilled faculties, I can assure you, NSU has the most qualified and most caring international quality faculties who teach students with utmost care. NSU programs are nationally and internationally recognised. Our business school is ranked 351-400 in the list of top business schools in the world in the QS World University Rankings. We do research jointly with many reputed organisations.”
