High Court for allowing ICT teachers to apply for NTRCA

The High Court on Monday directed the concerned bodies of the government to give an opportunity to the MPO-listed Information Communication and Technology (ICT) teachers to apply in the advertisement published by the Non-Government Teachers' Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) for recruiting teachers as departmental candidates.

The secretary of the secondary and higher secondary division of the Ministry of Education, the chairman of the NTRCA and two other respondents have been asked to take necessary measures to implement this order.

The High Court bench of Justice Kashefa Hussain and Justice Kazi Zinat Hoque delivered the order in a verdict after hearing a writ petition filed in this regard.

Lawyers Siddique Ullah Miah and Md Monirul Islam Miah appeared in the court on behalf of the writ petitioners, while Deputy Attorney General Noor Us Sadik represented the state.

Later Mr Sidduq Ullah Miah said, “The NTRCA on February 6 this year published an advertisement to recruit 15163 teachers in non-government schools, colleges and madrasas. However, the authorities didn’t keep any opportunity for the MPO teachers in ICT to apply in the recruitment process as departmental candidates.”

In this circumstance, 101 MPO teachers filed a writ petition with the High Court challenging the inaction of the authorities to keep the opportunity for the MPO teachers in ICT to apply in the recruitment process, the lawyer also said.

After a primary hearing on the petition, another High Court bench on February 20 issued a rule over the issue and after a final hearing, the High Court on Monday declared the rule absolute.
