A total of 898 workers were killed and some 341 others injured in 2018 due to workplace accidents in the country, according to a report.
It said the workplace death count has come down compared to previous two years – in 2017, 1242 people met with workplace deaths and in 2016, 1240.
Transport sector witnessed the highest number of deaths, the report said, adding that a total of 157 workers were killed in the formal sector while the rest 741 were killed in the informal sector.
Bangladesh Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Foundation (OSHE) on Thursday published the report at a press conference in Dhaka Reporters Unity.
