A woman died falling off a rickshaw as hijackers tried to snatch her bag from a private car at Kamlapur in the capital.
The deceased was identified as Sunita Rani Das, 50.
"I was going for a job interview with my aunt. When someone tried to snatch her vanity bag from a private car she fell down and sustained injures, said Sujit, the nephew of the victim.
She was rushed to the emergency unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital where she died, added Sujit.
Md Bacchu Mia, Inspector of the DMCH Police Camp, said the body has been kept at the morgue of DMCH for an autopsy, reports UNB.
