Two suspected robbers were killed in an alleged gunfight with Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Sitakunda Upazila on early Tuesday.
The identities of the deceased could not be known yet.
RAB said its members had recovered firearms and bullets from the spot after the gunfight at Chhoto Kumira at around 02:00 am.
RAB-7 Assistant Director (Media) Masuqur Rahman said one of their teams went to the area to foil a robbery bid on the highway.
“The robbers opened fire as soon as our team reached the spot. After the skirmish, bodies of two robbers were recovered from the spot,” he claimed.
