Tremor hits Dhaka, neighbourhoods

A mild tremor has hit Dhaka city and its neighbourhoods, registering 4.1 on the Richter scale.

The epicentre of the quake, which was felt at 10:55 am, was at Gazipur, an adjoining district of the capital, according to an official of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday.

BMD director Shamsuddin Ahmed said it lasted merely for two seconds.
