The total amount of debt to the top 20 defaulters is Tk 192.83 billion while the amount of defaulted loans is Tk 165.87 billion.
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal divulged the amount in parliament on Tuesday responding to a tabled question from ruling Awami League MP Shahiduzzaman Sarker.
The finance minister placed the list of the names of the top 20 loan defaulters, the amount of total debt and the amount of defaulted loans to them, reports UNB.
He also informed the House that the total number of defaulters in the country is 7,86,065.
According to the list, among the top 20 loan defaulters, the debt status of CLC Power Company Limited is Tk 17.32 billion while their defaulted debt is 16.49 billion.
The debt status and amount of defaulted loan of 19 others are: Western Marine Shipyard Ltd, Tk 18.55 billion, defaulted debt, 15.29 billion; Remex Footwear Ltd, Tk 10.77 billion, all those amount are defaulted loans; Rising Steel Company Ltd, 11.42 billion, defaulted debt, Tk 9.90 billion; Mohammad Elias Brothers (Pvt.) Ltd, Tk 9.65 billion, all those amount are defaulted loans.
Rupali Composite Leather Wire Ltd.'s status and amount of defaulted loans are the same. Their defaulted debt is Tk 8.73 billion.
Crescent Leathers Products Ltd.'s status and amount of defaulted loans is Tk 8.55 billion.
The status and amount of defaulted loans of Quantum Power Systems Ltd. is Tk 8.11 billion.
The debt status of Saad Musa Fabrics Ltd. is Tk 11.31 billion, the amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 7.76 billion.
The status of amount of BR Spinning Mills Ltd. and the amount of defaulted loans is Tk 7.21 billion.
The debt status of SA Oil Refinery Ltd. is Tk 11.72 billion. The amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 7.03 billion.
Debt status of Maisha Property Development Ltd. is Tk 6.86 billion. The amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 6.63 billion.
Debt status of Radium Composite Textile Ltd. is Tk 7.70 billion. The amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 6.60 billion.
Debt status of Samannaz Super Oil Ltd. is Tk 11.30 billion. The amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 6.51 billion.
Manha Precast Technology Ltd.'s debt status and defaulted debt amount is Tk 6.47 billion.
Asian Education Ltd.'s debt status is Tk 6.53 billion. The amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 6.35 billion.
Debt status of SM Steel Re-Rolling Mills Ltd. is Tk 8.88 billion. Their defaulted loan amount is Tk 6.30 billion.

Debt Status of Ehsan Steel Re-Rolling Ltd. is Tk 6.24 billion. Their defaulted loans amount is Tk 5.90billion and the debt status of Siddiqui Traders is Tk 6.70 billion while the amount of their defaulted loans is Tk 5.41 billion.
