A teenage girl apparently hanged herself after failing the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations in Puthia village of Ullapara upazila in Sirajganj on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Mafia Khatun, 16, daughter of Moynal Hossain, reports UNB.
OC of Ullapara Police Station Dipak Kumar said Mafia hanged herself in the family home in the afternoon, shortly after receiving her results.
The results of this year’s Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations were published Sunday, where the overall pass rate was close to 83 per cent, i.e. 1 out of every 7 students failed.
