Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Md Siddiqur Rahman has said seven out of world's top ten green factories are situated in Bangladesh.
The BGMEA leader made the revelation at a function to give award to ten such factories at Krishibid Institute in the capital on Saturday.
State Minister for Labour and Employment Md. Mujibul Haque handed over the awards at the function, organized jointly by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, International Labour Organization (ILO), UK Aid, Canada and the Netherlands.
Speaking on the occasion, the state minister urged factory owners to come forward in ensuring occupational health of the labourers in all the workplaces across the country, reports BSS.
