In the aftermath of the fire in Banani's FR Tower, the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) has resumed its drives to inspect safety measures at multi-storey buildings for third day.

A four-member panel from RAJUK Zone-4, led by engineer Mamun Mia, inspected four buildings until 2:00pm on Wednesday and identified three high-rises at risk of fire hazard.

One of the buildings marked by the RAJUK team is the 23-storey Iqbal Centre, owned by former Awami League MP AHBM Iqbal. During inspection, the probe team found proof that the building was only given clearance for 18 floors.

The two buildings are the 21-storey Bulu Ocean Tower and the 16-storey Delta Dahlia.

But the fire service had already marked the two high-rises as posing a risk of catching fire before RAJUK's inspection.

The RAJUK team began its inspection at Awal Tower around 10:30am before inspecting Delta Dahlia, Bulu Ocean Tower and Iqbal Centre, reports bdnews24.com.

Though Delta Dahlia and Bulu Ocean Tower were constructed on residential permits, commercial activities are taking place at some floors of the buildings, RAJUK Zone-4 engineer Mamun Mia said.

The team found a number of flaws in the buildings, including in its fire exits.
