Daily Prothom Alo special correspondent Raheed Ejaz and bdnews24.com senior correspondent Nurul Islam Hasib were elected president and general secretary of the Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh (DCAB) respectively for the year of 2019.
UNB special correspondent AKM Moinuddin was re-elected vice-president of the 11-member executive committee of the DCAB.
Chief Election Commissioner M Shafiqul Karim announced the results after the annual general meeting (AGM) held at Jatiya Press Club in the city on Tuesday. Senior journalist Nizam Ahmed was the election commissioner.
The AGM was presided over by outgoing President Rezaul Karim Lotus where outgoing General Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman Mishu and Treasurer Mizanur Rahman presented their annual reports.
Other office-bearers are joint secretary Israt Jahan Urmi (senior correspondent of DBC News), treasurer Mahadi Hasan Talukder (special correspondent of Kaler Kantho) and office secretary Abu Hena Emrul Kayesh (senior correspondent of Bangla Vision), reports UNB.
Five executive committee members are Angur Nahar Monty (joint news editor, News24 TV), Md Mahfuzur Rahman (special correspondent, Jamuna TV), Sanaul Haq (chief reporter, ATN Bangla), Touhidur Rahman (banglanews24.com) and Md Khurram Zaman (special correspondent of barta24).
