RAB seizes seven kg gold bars, arrests four

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-2 on Friday arrested four active members of international gold smuggling gang from capital’s Kalyanpur area and recovered 56 gold bars weighing around seven kilograms.

“Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-2 conducted a drive in Kalyanpur area and arrested the four. We recovered 56 gold bars worth around Tk 35 million from their possession,” senior assistant director (media) ASP Md Mizanur Rahman Bhuiyan of RAB told BSS.

The RAB official, however, refrained from disclosing the identities of the arrestees for the end of proper investigation.

RAB-2 ASP (media) Mohammad Saiful Malik said the arrestees were members of international gold smuggling gang, reports BSS.
