Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) members arrested two suspected drug dealers and recovered 20,387 Yaba tablets from the 300 Feet Road of Khilkhet in the city on Wednesday morning.
The arrestees are Md Idris, 28, and Abdul Mohit Tipu, 32.
Sources at the RAB-2 battalion headquarters said they had information that a group of drug pushers was waiting at the road with a drug consignment.
Based on the information, a team of the elite force conducted a drive there around 11:05am and arrested the duo along with the Yaba tablets, said ASP Rabiul Islam of the battalion.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestees revealed that they had long been involved in distributing Yaba tablets to the drug dealers of Dhaka city as well as other districts after bringing those from Teknaf of Cox's Bazar and Chattogram, Rabiul claimed, reports UNB.
