President M Abdul Hamid on Monday urged media people to ensure objective journalism and always give priority to reality in their profession.

The President came up with the call as Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof Md Akhatruzzaman along with members of Dhaka University Journalists Association (DUJA) called on him at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.

"A 10-member delegation led by DU VC including nine-member executive committee of Dhaka University Journalists Association called on the President," President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS after the meeting, reports BSS.

Terming the journalism as a noble profession, President Hamid asked Dhaka University reporters, who cover news on the campus, to give priority to the facts.

He hoped that all DUJA members would ensure objectivity in journalism and play a very significant role to develop the quality of journalism in Bangladesh.

Abdul Hamid also highly appreciated the initiatives of the DU reporters as they are doing journalism beside their academic life.

The President was also apprised of DUJA's overall activities by the association President Forhad Uddin and General Secretary Forrukh Mahmud.

Secretaries concerned to the President, among others, were present there.
