Four CMC students injured in attack by BCL

CHATTOGRAM: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists beat up four students of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) on Friday. Of the four students two were admitted to ICU of Chittagong Medical College Hospital while the two others were sent to their home town.

The injured students are identified as M A Raihan, Mobashir Hossain Shubra, Jahid Hossain Wakil and Sakib Hossain. All of them are students of MBBS 62nd batch of CMC. Jahid Hossain Wakil and Sakib Hossain were admitted to CMCH with critical injury. The BCL activists forced M A Raihan and Mobashir Hossain Shubra to go to their home town.

Sources said a group of terrorists led by the expelled students of CMC and BCL activists Ovijit, Reajul, Jakir Hossain, Mahin Ahamed and Ibrahim Sakib confined M A Raihan, Mobashir Hossain Shubra, Jahid Hossain Wakil and Sakib Hossain in a room of the hostel and beat them severely on Wednesday night.

Principal of the CMC Professor Dr Shahena Akter said, "We have taken steps for their treatment. Later, we will take action against the criminals."

Officer in Charge of Chawkbazar thana Monjur Kader Majumdar said, "We received the complaint and deployed additional police at the hostel of the CMC. We will take action against the criminals."

However, nobody was arrested in this regard till filing this report at 6:00 pm on Friday.
