Police, protesters clash in front of Baitul Mukaram

A clash broke out between police and protesters after Jumma prayers (Friday prayer) at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the capital’s Paltan area, where several hundreds stated a demonstration against against erecting sculptures.

Members of the law enforcement agencies charged batons and dispersed the crowd as the protesters were trying to block the road in front of the mosque, said our correspondent at the spot.

Police also detained at least two protesters from the spot.
