Police detain wife over husband, daughter murder in city's Badda neighbourhood

A man and his daughter were found dead in their rented house in Dhaka’s Badda area early Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Jamil, 38, and his daughter Nusrat, 9.

Police found Jamil with multiple stab wounds on his body, Inspector Kazi Wazed Ali of Badda Police Station said. “And the girl was suffocated.”

The double murder might have occurred at any time of last night, Wazed Ali added.

On information, police recovered the bodies of father and his daughter from their roof-top residence this morning.
Meanwhile, Arjina, wife of Jamil, has been detained from the crime scene for interrogation; according to agencies.
