Students and job seekers have halted their quota protests until the government announces its gazette.

Their platform announced this at Raju Memorial Sculpture on Dhaka University campus on Thursday morning.

The ‘Council for Preservation of Bangladesh General Students’ Rights had been oraganising the protests.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced to abolish all the quotas in civil service.

Quota reform is what they had been demanding but Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced to abolish it all.

Still, the demonstrators greeted the announcement and hoped that the government implement it very soon.

The platform demanded withdrawal of all cases against the demonstrators who were part of the movement.

They also made the demand to stop harassing the general students at the halls of the University of Dhaka.

In the latest round of the protests, it gainced pace and strongly took hold with police crackdown on Sunday.
