The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Friday said the investigations in graft cases related to the casinos are still underway and there is no laxity in the commission in dealing with the cases.

Warning the corrupt and corruptible, he said the ACC will not spare anybody who are involved with any kind of graft in the country and will not be flexible towards it despite the COVID-19 crisis.

The ACC chairman made the remarks today in response to a question from reporters on whether there was a slackening in the investigation into the casino cases, according to an anti-graft watchdog agency statement.

However, the Commission chief admitted that it may take a little longer than expected to complete the inquiry due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic as the concerned investigating officers have been asked to work from home.

Mr Mahmood hopes that the perpetrators will be brought to justice after completing the investigation.

In reply to another question, he said the ACC will fulfill its legal and lawful responsibilities to end corruption in the health sector, including the purchase of the PPEs.
