No new coronavirus patient detected in last 24 hrs: IEDCR

The IEDCR has said it detected no new case of coronavirus in the country in the last 24 hours.

The government's disease control arm revealed this at a press briefing on its premises in the city on Friday.

IEDCR (Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research) director Prof Dr Meerjady Sabrina spoke at the press briefing organised by the Directorate General of Health Services, UNB reported.

"Samples of 187 people have been tested by IEDCR so far.  Twenty four people were tested in the last 24 hours.  However, none of them was found infected with coronavirus," she said.

"Two of the three infected patients have recovered completely. One of them has returned home while the other one is still at the hospital as some of the patient's family members are quarantined at home," Mrs Flora added..

About the third infected patient, she said the result is still positive.

The IEDCR director urged the people with symptoms of coronavirus not to visit IEDCR directly for treatment.
