Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have detained a commander of the banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from South Banasree area in the city on Wednesday.
The arrestee has been identified as Imam Mehedi Hasan alias Abu Jibril, commander of Brigade Ad-dar-e Kutni of New-JMB Sarwar-Tamim group, according to UNB.
On information, a team of Rab raided Banasree area under Khilgaon Police Station and arrested Abu Jibril, said a SMS sent by the elite force.
