The month-long online book fair has started in the port city.
Eminent educationist Professor Anupam Sen inaugurated the book fair at the hall of Chattogram Academy at Momin Road in the city on Tuesday evening.
Addressing the function as the chief guest, Dr Anupam Sen said, “It the first online book fair in the port city Chattogram. Many buyers and book-lovers have already become used to buying books from online.”
The inaugural function was chaired by journalist and poet Rashed Rouf. Among others poet Arun Shil, Ayesha Haque Shimu, Nesar Ahamed, Professor Rita Dutta, Professor Shamsuddin Shishir, Bipul Barua, Utpal Kanti Barua, Abul Kalam Bewlal, Shakil Ahamed, Shah Alam Nipu, Kanchana Chakraborti, Ali Proyash, Rejaul Karim, Ismail Jashim, Gofran Uddin Titu, Basu Dev Khastagir, Sayeda Selima Rahman, Badrunnesa Saju, Supratim Barua and Milon Bonik addressed the function.
Considering the pandemic, Chattogram Academy has arranged the fair online.
The fair will continue until December 31.
The online facilities are open from 9 am to 6 pm everyday for the buyers at the Chattogram Academy hall.
Book-lovers can order books at 20 per cent discount at the fair.
