A minor boy died allegedly due to wrong treatment in Barishal on Wednesday.

The ill-fated was Rean, six-month-old son of Al Amin, a resident of Hospital Road area in the city.

Al Amin, father of the Rean, said his son had been suffering from cold and cough for the last couple of days.

On Wednesday morning, he took his son to the outdoor unit of Shere-e-Bangla Medical College and Hospital where Dr Mahmud Hasan suggested him to use 'Sultolin' inhaler for treating his son and asked him to buy the medicine from 'Best Pharmacy'.

Al Amin went to the pharmacy in the evening but after taking the inhaler Rean died instantly at the pharmacy, he said.

Later, Al Amin lodged a complaint with Kotwali Model police station and demanded punishment of those responsible for the death of his son, reports UNB.

Turning down the allegation, Dr Mahmud Hasan, said the baby was prescribed the medicine in the morning but it was given after 10 hours which may cause the death.

Nurul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Model Police Station, said legal action will be taken after investigation.
