Mercury climbs to 33.80 degree Celsius in city

Hot weather continued in the city on Wednesday amid high temperature and lack of rain.

For partly cloudy sky with a humidity ranged between 76 and 71 per cent in the air, people experienced a boiling heat on the day.

Maximum temperature of Dhaka city was recorded as 33.8 degree centigrade on the day while minimum temperate was measured as 28.5 degree.

Highest temperature was measured in Tangail as 36 degree.

The city witnessed no rainfall on the day until 6.00pm when highest rain was recorded in the country at Kutubdia as 184 mm, said Met Office.

Officials at the Met Office said the hot spell might continue as there was a little chance of rain in Dhaka and its adjacent districts in next one day.

Rain might occur in most places in Rangpur, Chattogram and Barishal divisions while in many places over Sylhet, Mymensingh and Khulna divisions.

Only a few areas under Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions might experience rain, said Met Office.

The sun will rise at 5:33 am while it will set at 6:34pm on Thursday in Dhaka.
