'Media reports open third eye'

Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Thursday said media is the fourth organ of a state.

“Media reports can open the third eye of the people,” he said at a function marking the 15th founding anniversary of the Dainik Amader Shomoy at the daily’s office in the city’s Tejgaon area this afternoon.

Emphasising on investigative and development reports, Hasan urged journalists to highlight the successes achieved under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Earlier, he cut a cake marking the founding anniversary of the paper.

Gonoforum lawmaker Sultan Mohammad Mansur Ahmed and Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) Vice-President Nurul Haque Nur were present on the occasion, among others, reports UNB.
