A man was killed after being hit by a train on a level crossing near Kuril Bishwa Road in the city early Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Lutfar Rahman, 50, son of Abdul Jabbar, of Tarail upazila in Kishoreganj district, who used to live in Sadar upazila of Narshingdi.
Victim's brother in-law Md Fazle Rabbi said Lutfar's wife Rekha has been undergoing treatment at Kurmitola General Hospital.
The accident took place as the train hit Lutfar while he was returning from the hospital around 3:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue for autopsy, reports UNB.
