Four people were killed and another one was injured in a landslide at Boroitoli Manjurpara in Naikhongchhari upazila in Bandarban on Monday.
The deceased were identified as Shona Meher, Mohammad Abu, Jashim Uddin and Nurul Hakim while the injured was identified as Nurul Alam.
Jahangir Aziz Chowdhury, chairman of Ghumdum union parishad, said a chunk of mud collapsed on them around 11:00am while they were cutting a portion of a hill for making a way for rainwater drainage, leaving four dead on the spot and one injured.
The injured was taken to Naikhongchhari Upazila Health Complex.
Three fire-fighting units were working to recover the bodies, reports UNB.
