Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) on Sunday said Dhaka WASA, two city corporations and all concerned institutions have failed to address the drainage system, rainwater drainage and waste management to end waterlogging due to lack of coordination among them in the city.

There is no scope of blaming any particular organisation for the failure to this end, TIB says in a statement.

It is important to give the responsibility to two city corporations alone to solve the crisis without imposing the duty of negligence on others, it emphasised.

Due to the fact that different organisations (Dhaka WASA, two city corporations and Water Development Board) have the responsibility of drainage management in the city and as a result the problem of waterlogging has become evident due to lack of coordination, unhealthy competition and mutual blame, TIB stated.
