A suspected drug pedlar was killed in a reported gunfight between two groups of drug pedlars in Jashore in the early hours of Tuesday.
The dead man is around 30-year old, said Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
At around 4:00 am, a team of police conducted drive at Mangalgati in the district after being informed about a possible gunfight in sadar upazila, said the OC.
Sensing presence of the lawmen, the gang members fled the scene, UNB reported.
Police then recovered the bullet-riddled body of the gang member along with two kilograms of cannabis and 200 yaba tablets from the crime scene.
