Hot weather lingers in city

Hot weather continued in Dhaka city on Wednesday amid high temperature and a lack of rain.

For partly cloudy sky with humidity ranging from 76 per cent to 71 per cent in the air, people experienced a boiling heat on the day.

The maximum temperature in the metropolis was recorded 33.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was measured 28.5 degrees. The highest temperature was recorded in Tangail at 36 degrees.

Dhaka city witnessed no rainfall until 6:00 pm on Wednesday when the highest rainfall was recorded at Kutubdia at 184 millimetre, said the Met office.

According to meteorologists, the hot spell might continue as there is a little chance of rain in Dhaka and its adjacent districts in the next day.

Only a few areas under Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions might experience rain, predicted the Met office.

Sunsets in the city (today) Thursday at 06:33 pm and will rise tomorrow (Friday) at 05:33 am.
