A fire that broke out at the Dhaka Norh City Corporation (DNCC) kitchen market in Gulshan-1 under has been brought under control. No casualty was reported immediately.
Twenty of the firefighting units brought the blaze, which started around 5:48am, under control at 8:25am, local media report quoting sources at the Fire Service and Civil Defence.
The sources could not confirm the cause of the fire or the extent of losses from it immediately.
The fire at the DNCC market occurred just two days after a devastating fire at the Banani FR tower that claimed the lives of 25 people and injured many others.
On January 3, 2017, a deadly fire ripped through much of the DNCC Market at Gulshan-1, reducing it to rubble, causing a loss of more than Tk 5.0 billion.
