Guard hurt in Rupali Bank robbery attempt at Ruet branch

Robbers attempted to commit robbery at Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (Ruet) branch of Rupali Bank in Rajshahi city early Friday, leaving its security guard injured.

Soaibur Rahman, manager of the bank, told police that a group of masked robbers entered the bank around 12:00 am and vandalised the close circuit cameras of the bank.

They also stabbed security guard Liton before entering the bank, leaving him injured, reports UNB.

Later, they tried to break open the vault of the bank but failed, said Golam Ruhul Kuddus, additional deputy commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police.
