The government reconstituted the International Crimes Tribunal through appointing its chairman and members.

Justice Md Shahinur Islam, a High Court judge and now a member of the ICT-1, was named as chairman of the tribunal.

Justice Amir Hossain and former district judge Abu Ahmed Jamadar will act as members of the tribunal.

The law ministry issued a notification on Wednesday over the reconstitution of tribunal, responsible for trying 1971 war criminals, reports UNB.

A circular signed by Law Secretary ASSM Zahirul Haque on Wednesday said the tribunal's member Justice Md Shohrowardi is going back to the High Court as per his desire.

Justice Amir Hossain will replace him, it said.

After the death of the tribunal's previous chairman Justice Anwarul Haque on July 13, the post fell vacant. It will be replaced by Abu Ahmed Jamadar.
