Girls outshine boys in JSC, JDC

Girls fared better than boys in this year's Junior School Certificate (JSC) and Junior Dakhil Certificate (JDC) examinations.

The pass rate of female students is 86.43 per cent while that of boys is 85.12 per cent, according to UNB.

A total of 28,190 boys obtained GPA-5 while the number is 39,905 in case of girls, showing a difference of 11,715.

This year, a total of 1,406,317 girl students appeared at the examinations against 1,192,852 boys. The number of girl examinees was 213,465 higher than their boy counterparts.

The number of successful girls is 200,055 up from boys as 1,215,442 girls came out successful in the examinations to 1,015,387 boys.

The results of this year's JSC and JDC examinations were published on Monday with the pass rate 85.83 per cent.
