At least six people have been burnt in a fire that originated from gas line during repairs at a house in the city’s Mohammadpur area.
The incident occurred at a flat on the fourth floor of the building no. 273 on road no. 5 of Mohammadia Housing Society on Thursday night, said police.
Those injured in the fire are Hosne Ara, 53, Nayeema Haque, 46, ‘Laily’, 35, ‘Munaem’, 28, ‘Nayeem’, 7, and repairman Billal Hossain, 35, according to a report on bdnews24.com.
“Gas started coming out of the line when the repairman was working in the flat around 9pm. Suddenly the fire started. Fire crew later doused the flames,” said Adabor Police Station OC Kausar Ahmed.
The injured have been admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital’s burns unit.
