Fire engulfs 10 houses in Khulna

Ten houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at Garuikhali Housing project in Khulna’s Paikgacha upazila on Monday night.

The fire originating from a kitchen of a house at 8 pm soon engulfed the adjoining nine other houses.

After two and half hours of frantic efforts, the locals brought the fire under control at 10 pm, reports a local news agency.

UP chairman Ruhul Amin said the affected owners claimed the estimated losses caused by the fire are about Tk 20 lakh.
