The Financial Express (FE) and two of its journalists have won prestigious Press Council Padak-2020 for outstanding contribution to journalism in Bangladesh.
The country’s premier business daily, The FE has been awarded the Padak (award) as the best institution.
Arafat Ara, FE staff reporter, has secured the award of the best woman journalist and Shafiqul Alam, senior staff photographer, for the best photography.
Information Minister Hassan Mahmud handed over the prize to The FE Editor Shah Hussain Imam and its two journalists on the Department of Film and Publication (DFP) premises in the city on Saturday.
Other winners of Press Council Padak this year are Daily Korotoa (institution); Zahidur Rahman, sub-editor at Samokal; and Md Yusuf, staff reporter at Daily Amader Somoy.
The Press Council also honoured eminent journalist Toab Khan with lifetime achievement award.
