DSCC delivers food to 1,587 families after receiving hotline calls

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has delivered food to 1,587 families upon receiving calls at its hotline.

DSCC Public Relations Officer Uttam Kumar Roy said 10,178 citizens called the hotline so far and among them 2,573 registered for food delivery.

Food was delivered to 1,587 families and the rest will get shortly, he said.

The hotline project was implemented by the DSCC at the directive of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he added.

People have been requested to call hotline numbers – 01709900703 or 01709900704 – to get in touch with DSCC, according to UNB.

The hotline was launched as economic activities came to a halt due to coronavirus outbreak which forced people to stay at home.

Meanwhile, three more people died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours, raising death toll to 20, according to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

Besides, 54 people tested positive for COVID-19 during the period, raising the number of such cases in the country to 218, said IEDCR.
