Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) on Tuesday found Aedes larvae in a house in the capital and fined Tk 10, 000 during a mobile court drive.

A DNCC team led by Executive Magistrate Roslina Parveen conducted the drive in the city’s Badda area to protect the city dwellers from dengue.

During the drive, 11 under construction buildings were inspected.

In addition, some building owners were also warned to remove rainwater and dirt immediately.

A total of Tk 426,300 have also been fined by different mobile courts run by DNCC since May 10 to till date to control Aedes mosquitoes.

The DNCC's drives will continue to protect the city dwellers from dengue through curbing Aedes mosquitoes, officials said.

Last year, the city corporation launched a '10-day combing operation' to prevent breeding of Aedes mosquitoes responsible for dengue fever.
