DNCC evicts 200 illegal establishments in Mohammadpur

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) conducted a drive in the city’s Mohammadpur area on Thursday and evicted around 200 illegal establishments.

A mobile court led by the DNCC’s Executive Magistrate Mohammad Sajid Anowar conducted the drive and evicted shops and other illegal make-shift structures.

The drive was conducted between 12:00pm to 4:00pm on the day at the area.

Apart from this, a fair organised by Mohammadpur Club, was evicted which is being run illegally at city’s Zakir Hossain road in the area.

A big illegal establishment was later dismantled from Shahid Park Math (field) in the area.

Besides, another team led by executive officer of  zone -5 Md. Masud Hossain conducted an eviction drive and removed all the hawkers from a foot-over bridge at city’s Farmgate area and opened it for the movement for the pedestrians.

On the basis of reports of several national dailies of the past few days, the eviction operation was carried out at Mohammadpur and Farmgate area.

During the eviction drive, the DNCC panel mayor Alea Sarwar Daisy was present.

Such drives and mobile courts will continue in the coming days, according to a press statement issued on Thursday.
