DMP realises over Tk 3 million from traffic offenders

The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday collected around Tk 3.082 million in fines from traffic offenders.

In a simultaneous drive on the city streets conducted on the day, the DMP filed a total of 3,820 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violations, according to DMP data.

Of the cases, 406 cases were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 95 for using hydraulic horn, nine for using hooter and beacon light, and 15 others for using tinted glass.

Police also filed 1235 cases against motorcycle riders and seized 117 bikes over traffic offences.

Apart from this, the DMP dumped 42 vehicles and wrecked 804 others during the drive.
