Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Wednesday realised Tk 2.5 million in fines from traffic offenders in the city.
Besides, a total of 4,420 cases were also filed against different modes of vehicles for violating traffic rules, DMP said in a statement.
Of the cases, 736 were lodged for driving on the wrong sides, 53 for using hydraulic horns, eight
for using hooters and beacon lights, and 15 others for using tinted glasses.
As for traffic violations by motorcycles, the traffic division filed 2017 cases and seized 109 motorcycles.
A total of 15 motorcyclists faced cases for using mobile phones while driving.
Apart from this, the traffic police also dumped 25 vehicles and wrecked 707 others.
