The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 60 people from the city in a regular anti-narcotics drive for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under DMP conducted the drive and arrested the suspected offenders from different areas of the capital in the last 24 hours ended at 6:00am on Tuesday.
The drive witnessed a seizure of 3192 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 1095 grams heroin, 1.9 kilograms of cannabis, 800 bottles of phensedyl syrup, 864 cans of beer and some other drug items, according to a DMP statement.
A total of 44 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
