Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a 24-hour-long anti-narcotics drive, ended at 6:00am Sunday, arrested 55 drug suspects from different areas of the capital city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under the DMP conducted the drive in various places of the city and seized 2884 pieces of sedative yaba tablets, 333.5 grams heroin, and 4.35 kilogramme cannabis, and 250 bottles of phensedyl, according to a DMP statement on Sunday.
A total of 38 cases have been filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations, the statement further added.
